I was thinking about psychological boundaries and what that means, and how to use them. There are times that it's fine with me to merge boundaries, agree with someone else's view and times I need to pay more attention to my view, my feelings.
This weeks prompt is 'boundary'. Boundary is the edge of a place, a space, a world, a container. Sometimes going beyond my boundary, beyond my edge, is interesting. Reaching out of my world into the unknown adjacent world.
I'm grateful to be an artist. To have the privilege to observe, to contemplate, to stare at whatever grabs my attention. And I am deeply grateful to have given up thinking it's not nice to stare.
When I'm grateful my heart opens. Here are some of the ways I open my heart.
John ffrench, Crispina's dad, was a wonderful potter. I love his handmade bowls and pitchers and sculpture, filled with color and polka-dots. His art makes me smile, and makes my home and life happier. Artists do a lot to make life better.
Barbara Bash is one of my teachers. I'm deeply grateful for her book "True Nature". Her simple drawings and observations of nature and life comfort me, slow me down, make me feel safe, real, ok. http://barbarabash.blogspot.com/
I made this pop-up cardboard set for the backdrop for this months IWOW open mic. The theme is 'home'. I photoshopped me into the set and made the fire move. Fun. And exciting. I get a kick out of entertaining myself.
