Still prompted by making a simple drawing. I feel like exploring combining the real and the imagined. I had this drawing of a bottle and decided to put it somewhere real. Garfield's hand seemed good. I turned the bottle upside down and drew liquid pouring out. I think this story might evolve, but for now it was fun and simple enough for today's blog entry.

Voices In The Air
Yesterday I imagined that the 'good' voices just appeared in the world. Today I made a little animation. You can click on image to see larger size.
Bench In Foyer
I like this practice of 'drawing from my imagination'. It brings out the designer in me. I have been wanting a bench in my foyer that has a high enough back so the kitties can comfortably hang out on the window sill. It's very narrow and they will fall off if there isn't a 'railing' to lean against. And I love these daisy flowers.

Drawing From My Imagination
The great gift of drawing is that I get to use my imagination to create a world I want to be part of. I get to 'say' THIS is what I want to see, to hold, to use, to think, to hear, to be surrounded by. THIS makes me happy, or comfortable, or safe, or alive. I want a garden or a hug or a place to go that's safe, quiet, dark, small. I can draw it even if I can't manage to get it in real life. But then I have made myself an artist, so now they are real.
I want lots of pink tulips surrounding my house.
I want a view that has positive, encouraging messages emanating from its hills.
I can draw a recording device of soul support messages. You can press a button to hear one.
or a teabag with soul support messages.
or a mug with polka dots and a big red handle.
I have Michele to thank for this. She draws from her imagination. I tend to think I 'should' draw from real life...meaning something that's really in front of me. But this is more fun. Simple. Effortless.

Headstones
I'm working on an installation of headstones for the open mic nite at my gallery in January. The theme is 'eulogy' and as I'm not much of a performer, I like to participate by offering the space a visual 'set'. This was fun and simple for me to draw. It's the first drawing that I've
made for this blog that I feel connected to, not stressed, not in any hurry...just enjoying the process. I'll make them out of cardboard, life-size.
